In the very first episode of The Awakened Podcast, Ed Mabrie joins me to discuss various topics such as: God is Light, the decaying of the speed of light, and how heaven may be hotter than hell. Ed is a man of God who explores the Bible...
5 This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is Light, and in him is no darkness at all.
1 John 1:5
12 Then spake Jesus again unto them saying, I am the Light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.
John 8:12
People who have had Near-Death-Experiences (NDEs) describe beautiful, bright, bluish-white Light that shined with a brilliance that they have never seen before. They usually go on to describe this light as emanating feelings of love and peace; feelings they had never felt before. They often call this light God, or Source, or Creator. They often describe themselves as a body-less entity that feels like a pure positive flow of energy, or pure consciousness.
Some of you may have heard me talk about how I had my first awakening moment when I was 13 or 14 at a Pentecostal Holiness Church with one of my closest friends. For those who don’t know, a Pentecostal Holiness Church is the type of Church that occasionally gets the Holy Spirit. During these Holy Spirt type of events at Churches like these, music literally sets the tone and plays one of the biggest roles in the experience. The band will sort of prime the congregation with music via a certain frequency, then the pastor will typically speak forcefully and emphatically in tongues and the whole body of the Church starts to sort of vibrate on this same wavelength. Eventually, the intensity of the vibrations get heavier and you can sense it in the air.
During a revival-type of event at my friend’s Church, the preacher called me and a friend down to the front of the Church and asked us to hold our hands up in the air to receive the Holy Spirit. When I put my hands up and my body started to shake, I quickly pulled back and went back to my pew. I call that event my Near-Holy-Spirit Experience (NHSE).
This moment had me kind of shocked that the Holy Spirit, or what people believe to be the holy Spirit, was an actual real thing. It was some sort of energy flowing through everyone. What that energy was, to me, was not what I would call the Holy Spirit because it felt negative. It didn’t feel positive because I didn’t see or sense anything that I could attribute to love.
Even at the age of 13 or 14 I knew what love felt like because I loved my family, friends, pets, etc. What I witnessed during this “NHSE” was a 6-year-old speaking in tongues, or a 65-year-old man cutting backflips, or a thirty-something-year-old mother of two shaking violently (and sweating profusely) on the floor - as if possessed by something evil. To me, these people didn’t look like they were having a peaceful, loving experience in a positive flow of energy and light; they looked like they were in a state of fear and darkness.
That was one of the biggest awakening moments for me because I realized then that there was duality in the world. If there is a negative energy that can flow through us, then there must be a positive energy. If there is Dark, there must be Light. This was a profound thought for me at such a young age. Up until that moment, I was going to Church and Church camp for my entire life. I had heard at Sunday school and during Bible study that God is Light but I didn’t fully comprehend what that meant. It wasn’t until much later in life while having a conversation with a friend of mine named Mark that I had the realization that the Sun emits visible light, a form of radiation that is called energy (heat), which moves in the form of electromagnetic waves.
If God is light and light is energy and God created us in His image, then that must mean that all matter on this Earth vibrates because of the energy that flows through it. In other words, the light vibrates matter into the physical realm that we can see.
And, as science reminds us, everything should be at equilibrium. Therefore, for every single particle of matter that makes up our physical world, there must be a particle of anti-matter that makes up an anti-world on some other plane of existence. We can’t see or touch this world; it only exists in theory. Let’s call this other world the spiritual world.
As above, so below.
The Physical World (Light)
Light is energy. Energy means there will be a lot of heat. Heat vibrates matter at a higher frequency.
The Spiritual World (Dark)
Dark means there is no energy. No energy means there is no heat, which means it is cold. No heat means little to no vibrations.
Thus, if God is Light, then it is inferred that the devil is darkness. The Bible confirms this:
3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. 4And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness. 5 And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night.
Genesis 1:3-5
